What's a better product? I use TeamViewer as an individual to help my technically illiterate grandparents who live across the country with tech issues. Would love an alternative if there is one.

Rustdesk is great. I've also used AnyDesk.

Recently I've used Parsec on a couple systems and it's zippy, but I can't get keyboard shortcuts to work for some reason.

Anydesk was what I used most recently. They did also have a breach early this year, but they handled it responsibly from what I read.

If company breaches are unacceptable, there are several selfhosted options, but I haven't tried any so I can't make a recommendation.
