General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

"artist" implies art is being made at some point, this ain't it

I'm glad that the art decider has come to tell me what is and isnt alowed to be art. Is there any other degenerate non-art you think should be removed? We could have a bonfire.

I mean does this burn all copies of the "movie" in existence? Does this "remove" this project from ever being circulated and punish those who do it to the full extent of the law? Cause I don't think so, so stop trying to liken my disapproval of word soup generation being called "art" with nazism and fascist ideology.

Also I can literally turn that point back to you, who are you to decide what is art? We're literally Lemmy users arguing shit online, don't try to take the high horse.

Book burnings dont remove all copies of a book from existence either. And no I dont get to decide what is and isnt art, and I dont presume to, generally if someone says something they have made is art and they're not asking me to buy it I'm happy for them to consider it art. Also I dont go around cheering when creative works I dont like get censored.
