So what will a beloved replacement of google for a search engine look like?

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 13 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Duck duck go has been my replacement.

I only use Google for maps when I'm looking for food or hotel stays.

I've been using DDG for a few years, but I don't like that it's not subject to any strong privacy regulations like GDPR I've looked at startpage but I hate how it doesn't let you see your search history in your browser history. Qwant forces you to diable your adblocker. Does anyone know of any good alternative?

Kagi is paid and has a small usage free tier. If you don't pay for what you use, you're the product.

At the minute? DuckDuckGo is a pretty good shout.
