A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. Avoid politics
    1. NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out
    2. Political posts often end up being circle jerks (not offering unique perspective) or enflaming (too much work for mods).
    3. Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.
  4. Posts must be original/unique

They're a secondary sexual characteristic, so it seems like something that would get attention.

That one sounds almost wholesome compared to some of the really weird stuff like diapers.

But yeah, that must have been a very awkward conversation. I'd have probably laughed, unfortunately. Not in a judgmental way. I think someone smarter than me said that we laugh at things that don't make sense to us.

Haha true about it seeming pretty wholesome. Yeah I definitely wasn't judging him, it was just so random. But I would have felt awful if he thought I was judging him. Luckily I don't think he did, because he went on for another minute or so about it.

Actually we laugh at things that suddenly make sense. Laughing at things that make no sense is an attempt to get into that headspace.
