Do you mean Tiny Desk or Khruangbin has jumped the shark? If it is Tiny Desk, not sure how showing live music could jump the shark

TINY DESK! 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s easy to imagine how they will jump the shark in the future. Look at enshittification.

How about them being so selective with who they pick that they don’t choose any good music in the future but instead choose Taylor Swift and other acts that are so mainstream that it’s like watching the Grammy’s? That’s easy to imagine. It’ll happen and we won’t be able to find new, obscure, amazing acts like Khruangbin through their show because that’s exactly how this type of thing happens.

Tiny desk has had very big names on before and managed to not jump the shark. Lizzo, Moby, The Cranberries, and a lot more. The fortunate thing is that the chance for enshittification is pretty low since it is publically funded. It is possible when Bob Boilen moves on it could take a turn, but the people below him seem to be pretty passionate about the same mission.

Boilen has already moved on and retired at the end of 2023 iirc.

Good to know. I personally think the people around him that came up in the Tiny Desk are still going to be good curators.
