Oh boy... Navalny, despite being a right wing asshole, was not a Nazi.

Biden supporting Israel is immaterial to the ongoing genocide because Israel has all the weapons and funding they need, they aren't using OUR weapons to kill people in Gaza.

Biden is supporting Israel because he wants the Israel PAC fundraising dollars.

supporting Israel for the money is probably the worst reason, besides just being a Zionist, which he claimed to be. it's bad all around, and inexcusable.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Oh, it's definitely inexecusable, but it's not the same as him personally committing genocide, which he is not.

[–] bigMouthCommie@kolektiva.social 2 points 7 months ago

the nazi battlefield nurses weren't personally committing genocide. I don't see any reason to split hairs about their culpability though.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Charles Manson never actually committed any of the Manson family murders, should he have been free?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Manson manipulated people into doing his bidding to foment the larger race war "Helter Skelter", Bibi requires no such manipulation and, in fact, is working in direct opposition to US interests.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That in reply to your claim that Biden is not participating in the genocide. All of these actions are in direct interest of us interests, if they were not, Biden has the power to stop it. The exact same way that Reagan did in the exact same way that Thatcher did in 1982. In fact, Biden providing funding and weapons for a nuclear capable nation to commit genocide is a violation of the Symington Amendment.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Biden has ZERO power to stop it because Bibi's genocide is not dependent on anyone elses participation. It's an engagement by Israel and Israel alone.

Biden could cut off support tomorrow and demand a cease fire, Bibi would ignore him.

The only way to stop Bibi would be to remove him and that is not going to happen, not by the United States.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Bibi would ignore him.

Sounds hyperbolic to me, but we will never know because the self proclaimed Zionist that's taken more AIPAC money than any other politician by a wide margin wont do it.

he was an unapologetic nationalist who characterized foreigners as vermin. he was also seeking power in the oligarchy of Russia so... he shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt on this one.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

they aren't using OUR weapons to kill people in Gaza.

Then when would Biden bypass congress 3 times now to provide additional weapons to Israel if NONE of our weapons are being used in Gaza? Just because a drunk former SoH said so doesn't make it truth.

was not a Nazi

So what is the correct word for a white nationalist wanting Arabs exterminated like roaches and flies, and wanted Russia for Russians only, xenophobic? If he were a US politician he would be among the likes of MTG and trump. And liberals certainly wouldn't be mourning his death.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Then when would Biden bypass congress 3 times now to provide additional weapons to Israel

Again, he wants the fat, fat campaign donations from pro Israel interests. Especially in an election year.

"One of, if not the most, powerful international issue lobby is that of the pro-Israel crowd. Well-financed and politically powerful, the pro-Israel lobby is a major force on American foreign affairs that looks to continue America’s military and fiscal support of the Jewish nation-state."

There is no equivalent on the Palestinian side.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So we are supposed to believe that Israel is using none of the millions of dollars in weapons given to him free of charge to kill Palestinians? And the white phosphorus, that's only manufactured in Arkansas, used against Palestinians is not from the US?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Israel has been using white phosphorus for YEARS. Yes, it comes from the US, it didn't get there because of Biden.

You have to understand, the US has been funding and supplying Israel for DECADES. They have a stockpile of weapons and money and don't NEED a red cent from Biden.

He's going to give it to them regardless, but they don't NEED him.
