That this has a pile of upvotes suggests a bunch of people do care.
Let me rephrase then: An insufficient amount of people cares, the expectation that this information alone might trigger a sufficient change in consumption patterns will not be fulfilled.
No one piece of information is going to change social norms like that. It takes a bunch of community and movement building. Distributing information is only part of the pelrocess
The only way to make change is to make the desired change profitable to megacorps.
Or make failing to make the change expensive. That works too.
