If you ask me, the fact that it requires a PS5 makes it a non starter. I was really hoping for a standalone handheld, maybe not as powerful as the PS5, but something to compete with the Switch and Steam Deck. Like the PSP was a less powerful PS2 but still a standalone handheld providing a console like experience. Or even a phone handheld, the N-Gage was ahead of its time!

There's actually a third party app on the Play Store that's better than Sony's default offering: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=psplay.grill.com

The developer's also made an Xbox version, for any of you who might have one of those.

Yup, PSPlay is technically what I'm using. It's pretty solid on this device, and you're right -- better than the official app. Worth the five bucks or so I threw at it.

I just had to setup custom on-screen mapping for the touchpad & PS button, and I was good to go.
