That is true. A friend of mine always remembers everything. She once bumped into someone she knew from some party long ago and was like. "Oh hi Angela, how's your uncle's business doing now? Did you and your brother manage to get cash register working again?", because she remebered that in that single conversation they had that night Angela mentioned her name and that she and her brotger had been helping her uncle start a business that entire summer and some cash register or whatever thing had malfunctioning that day... or some minute, irrelevant detaik like that.

Needless to say, Angela was creeped out and noped the fuck out of there.

I am like your friend in that I remember all these small "aside" details from random conversations/situations for years and years later, and I try my best not to do that thing you describe your friend doing because yeah, people really don't like it.. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Can't help what sticks in the brain though (it's definitely not a choice, nor an obsession with any one individual), and it is good to have at least one or two people you can say these things to (maybe not the really embarrassing things), just because sometimes it's nice to have confirmation that you are actually remembering all this stuff that really did happen/was said, and are not just imagining things or losing your mind lol
