Not a place for gamer gate talk or other reactionary behavior. TERFs and incels get the wall.

While disregarding the fact that they use Windows and Android. The mental gymnastics is Olympic quality.

I’ve been a gamer for a long time and did I miss a memo or something? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any credible proof that Tencent has done anything more nefarious or more often than American or Japanese software publishers. So I’m not sure how people are zealot level convinced.

Realistically, what do they even think China is going to do with their information?

All the surveillance state nightmares that USonians have about China, they already have in their own country.

Like that time facebook forwarded private messages between a teen and her mother about her trying to get an abortion to Nebraska cops, and she faces adult charges.

I literally can't mention anything in the presence of someone with an iphone nearby without me seeing ads for it within a few days.

Like we have documented evidence of the US's global surveillance machine, and the tight cooperation between its tech companies and its military, intelligence services, state department, and even other powerful companies. Obama went after the whistleblowers who exposed this hard, and Assange is still being tortured for bringing these crimes to light.

Vague orientalism is the only evidence they have of the PRC doing anything touching this.
