I bought a small, inexpensive, indie game and liked it. I couldn't find it anywhere else so I am sharing it with you all. Since we are in a commie cesspool, instead of Steam keys I will share a cracked copy of the game.

If you like the game and if it's possible for you, please try and support the devs.

SynopsisGood news: magic is real! Bad news: magic is highly illegal. Star Seeker is a wizard and you must solve a wizard crime or else get thrown in wizard jail by wizard- I mean, just regular police. In this short point 'n' click adventure, collect evidence and use it to clear up the useless detective's many confusions- and don't worry about getting it wrong. Every hare-brained idea you can possibly pitch to the detective prompts unique dialogue!

While disregarding the fact that they use Windows and Android. The mental gymnastics is Olympic quality.

I’ve been a gamer for a long time and did I miss a memo or something? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any credible proof that Tencent has done anything more nefarious or more often than American or Japanese software publishers. So I’m not sure how people are zealot level convinced.

Original thread.

Title kinda says all.

I'll have my own reply later.

Special weekly question:

What are you most anticipating for 2024 in terms of games?

Open-world games!

Open-world games everywhere!

...Okay, but honestly, they all look good.

I think these are the same folk that made Vampyr?

I could be wrong.

Anyway, enjoy the trailer. Lord knows this video game could use more attention. Nobody seems to be interested...

Looks like a good 3D metroidvania.

Better than more pixel shit.

Has anyone played this? You play an enby wizard trying to solve a murder in a world where magic is illegal. Thinking of getting it this weekend. The playtime is less than 5 hours so I should be able to finish it in a day.

Recently for my mental health I decided to stop playing competitive games. You know, your Battlefields, your Call of Duty's, your War Thunders, etc. I found myself angry more than I was having fun. For the past ten years... I don't think I ever ended a session of a player vs player match - "happy." Now I'm playing mostly singleplayer games with some MMORPGs. I am much happier. I actually look forward to gaming when I can. There is enough to get mad at in the world, I don't want my entertainment medium of choice to be anger inducing as well. I feel like the worst part about the vast majority of player vs player games is that someone basically has to not be having fun for the other person to have fun. Not universal, and probably more a matter of personal mindset but it's how I feel. I was just wondering how many if any comrades here have done the same and how it has effected you? I can confidentally say my life is better for it.

I've been playing House Flipper 2 a lot, which is a good detox from high stress games. Getting back into EU4 as well, beating up Europe at every chance I can get. Trying to learn Kremlingames games, mostly China: Mao's Legacy. Flying the MiG-19 in DCS, my favorite plane. It's been fun, and better. I do not miss War Thunder too much.

I'm not knocking people who like high action player vs player enviroments, it's just something I have grown to not enjoy anymore personally.

The "Unending Layoffs" section goes starts at 2:44 of the video.

Lasts about 14 minutes, but it's quite powerful.

Also, I'm at around the 1:00:00 mark and they've mentioned the "live-service bubble" here and there. What can I say? I like Easy Alllies, or EZA, for comments like that. I wish there were more "leftist" gaming podcasts, but I believe that EZA aren't ostensibly "leftist" and I've only started listening to them within the last month.

They avoid politics for the most part, which is why I was surprised to hear all this.

Oh yeah, and they accepted their trans friend and she's a valued member on the show.

God, I wish.

But probably? No.

Unless we're talking about the longue duree, but for the foreseeable, say, decade?

No.

We've got games like Black Myth: Wukong, Crimson Desert, Rise of the Ronin (Koei Tecmo hype!), Dragon's Dogma 2, and, I think, Persona 3 Reload, which I think are the ones I primarily want from this list. There's more games shown, of course. Check it out. Video is about 21 minutes long.

I'm sorry, but I like the "Catholic lore" oozing from this series (even though I don't like Catholicism, oddly enough).

It's a good watch.

I didn't know about the Zelda theme that plays at the beginning of Ocarina of Time till now, for example.

Also, video is 25:44 in case you want to invest; I used the picture-in-picture option to switch tabs while watching it.
