Being actively against the capitalist status quo and US hegemony that's currently committing a genocide do be like that

As a rabid homosexual man I'm a little disappointed at the lack of twink self-posting communities on Hexbear. In fact there's not even a general gay community. I'll think about it.

In fact there's not even a general gay community.

There is! Check out /c/anti_cishet_aktion

But really, the entire instance is the general gay community lol

I think hexbear toned down some of their gayness ever since Putin banned being gay.

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

We've gotten even gayer since 😎

You mean Russia, and critically at that, mostly because it serves as a bulwark for China against NATO.

Pootin himself has greatly improved life in Russia and re-nationalized some industries, but he's also made anti-Lenin remarks in the past and supported an anti-LGBT bill back in 2013.

Lmaoooooo

Yeah? Lmao if you go even slightly past western propaganda you can see that poverty has more than halved on his first tenure as president cuz he followed through with his academic paper on how Russia could recover from the USSR's dissolution that he wrote the year before, increased the country's purchasing power by 72%, GDP increased consistently, and he reversed the mass privatizations forced on Russia by the west in the shock "therapy".

He has an over 75% approval rating and keeps getting elected in Russia for a reason: people have directly felt the massive improvement in quality of life under his presidency. It is decreasing in recent years though so he's clearly starting to outlive his usefulness.

I'd recommend this book on the topic if you're curious.

Half of 100% is still 50% lol. When you compare Russia's progress with that of the world in general, in line with technological improvements, it becomes clear that Russia has been inhibited by Putin's policies and is lagging behind.

Thank you for the book reference though. I'll have to dig to find a version I can access, but I'll add it to the list of disaster capitalist books I should read to figure out what the villains of the world are doing, alongside those of William Rees-Mogg.

"Villains of the world" lmao marvel brain really has done irreparable damage to humanity

[–] Tweak@feddit.uk 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Lol I hope your windows are near to the ground.

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 2 points 10 months ago

Lol I hope yours is too

Ooooo go on then, I'll bite. Seeing as I'm in a safe space here, and don't have to tread on eggshells to avoid an unhinged moderator carelessly spinning Thor's banhammer.

US hegemony that’s currently committing a genocide

How is the US committing genocide right now?

Let's start with some facts - numbered, for your easy reply:

  1. The US have not been killing Palestinians. Israel have. Israel is a separate country to the US, and they do what they like. If anything, it almost seems that the US bends to Israel's will - so it should be "an Israeli hegemony". However, in reality, the US is merely an ally of Israel and simply is fulfilling its obligation to protect it from wider conflict. This is their motive, alongside a general incentive to keep international trade flowing for the US' own economic interests.
  2. The US did not cause the famine in Yemen. It was never a US blockade. The blockade was started by Saudia Arabia in 2015, the US provided assistance as an ally but then left in 2016. Saudia Arabia was always the driving force, and has been the only force since 2016. The famine in Yemen started in late 2016, after the US pulled out.
  3. The US does, of course, supply weapons to their allies. But so do all sorts of other countries - why do you single the US out, specifically? They're the biggest dog, but the other countries aren't doing it because the US is doing it, they're doing it because money.

I'm willing to wager that you're ready and willing to spin anything into being the US' fault. The reality is far more nuanced. Your hyperbole does nothing to help the situation - however it does encourage war to keep going and maybe even escalate.

The only people who will benefit from this are those that manufacture and sell weapons. Wouldn't you know it, most of those people are in the US. Your actions are serving American capitalist war mongerers.
