What it's really baffling is actually how the majority of westerners aren't seeing this NATO/US - Russia with the same scope as the non-western countries, since this time is as obvious as the "Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction" thing in 2003.

Look no further than Australia saying that it needs to invade the Solomon islands for "security reasons" because they're starting to warm up to China. In the same breath as condemning the Ukraine invasion due to NATO encroachment toward Russia's borders.
