If you're at tier 3 start doing helltide and nightmare dungeons for better loot. You can of course do the normal dungeons for your base aspects that go into your codex of power. Sometimes it's nice to have a base version of an aspect just as a backup so your build won't completely break if you swap out an item, even if that base version gives you lower stats compared to the ones you get randomly on loot.
Also, do events that give you obols, which you can trade at the curiosity vendor.
Should I be trading obols for gear or the whispering keys? So far I have been rolling the gear but no clue if it is more efficient to target the chests
Whispering keys are just for the random locked chests you find when exploring the world. I've generally found them to be okay-ish. I just keep 2 whispering keys on me at all times just in case. You run into those chests rarely though, so it is best to just buy the gear with the obols.
Also keep in mind that your main goal is to get to tier 4 as soon as possible by beating the capstone dungeon, I wouldn't worry too much about being a completionist about the side quests at tier 3. Best to save a few for Tier 4 anyways for the extra experience.
Oh interesting, what level or DPS do you think you need for that dungeon? I kind of thought I had to get geared to do it so I have been running quests and completing the area unlocks.
Oh you definitely need to be kitted up for it. It's crazy hard when you're under-geared. I went in as a level 56 wizard and got smacked by an elite with a big sword. I was just pointing out that you shouldn't be a completionist on world tier 3 thinking you need to do all of that to be ready. Better to leave some of the side quests alone and save them for world tier 4. Start going into the nightmare dungeons and doing helltide to level up faster. Plus, some of the nightmare dungeons end up overlapping with the side quests anyways, so you get two birds for one stone.
