Wonder if it has a low setting, so you can throw up a piece of bread and catch your toast 1.5 seconds later.

Probably not. Someone already did an experiment like that and basically, the energy density of a laser is too high. It will burn the hell out of the surface before it even touches the inside of the bread.

In the article it is reported that they had to under-size the laser power because it was too powerful 😅
