Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has died, his consulting firm says. He was 100. Kissinger dominated foreign policy as the United States extricated itself from Vietnam and broke down barriers with China.

In the medical world there's a meme that nice people will inevitably have something wrong with them and die, and the most cantankerous jerks will hang on despite all odds no matter how many horrible diseases afflict them.
