I dunno, the only place I've seen people claiming that everyone's just shitting on musk for points is the Internet. So Im not gonna trust it and assume musk is a human garbage pile.
Lemmings don't really beg or try anything to get more upvotes in here as there's no benefit of doing so. Reddit had karma, Lemmy does not. So I would believe the reasons to hate elon if I were you. But that's completely upto you.

That is not a feature builitin to lemmy. It's just your client doing it.
To be honest I haven't even bothered checking my totals lol, there isn't really any point. They hold no meaning outside of the context of a thread IMO
