I quit drinking in my 30s, it was interfering with my Ketracel White addiction and had to go.

We were having a game night at work in San Francisco and a Ukrainian co worker had joined us. We are all sitting down to play after grabbing beers from the fridge, and suddenly the Ukrainian guy gags and narrowly avoids spitting up all over himself. He then asks in this thick but charming accent "Guys. What dee fak is 'root. beer.'". He thought it was just regular beer and was not expecting the pretty strong, sugary flavor. Good bonding, he got a real beer and we played a bunch of games.
