Is he pulling focus entirely based on distance or does he have some sort of monitor he can see?

If he does have a monitor it’s a tiny one, it’s hard to tell if that’s the glow from his follow focus or an on-board monitor. Regardless he’s running so fast that he wouldn’t have much time to judge the focus by image, they definitely rehearsed this and I’m sure he had specific marks on his focus ring that he was hitting based on positions in the move as a whole. Very difficult pull. I only pull focus on smaller deals where I complain if somebody is rocking back and forth to much. Literally a week ago almost lost my mind because a guy couldn’t land a sandwich in the same spot within a couple inches from take to take.
