What’s with the thumbnail? Videos with thumbnails like this are a sure fire way to get me to not watch it.
It's how YouTube content creators get recognized unfortunately. They gotta market themselves alongside their material, else they don't get a following. Nature of the beast. I hate it too.
I kinda figured as much. I’m sure the content is fine on the vast majority of them but when I used to use YouTube as a form of entertainment those types of videos were not my cup of tea. Perhaps there is data to suggest we are outliers.
There's an extension that makes all YT thumbnails generic stills from the video. I think it is called deArrow?
It's the presenter in the video.
That was my assumption but I was more wondering if there is research that shows this style is attention grabbing or yields more clicks or something.
It's incredibly normal that the thumbnail is the presenter in the video.
Yes, I am aware.
Edit: y’all are ridiculous.
Yes, yes I am. Most videos like with thumbnails like that aren’t great. They do what YouTube tells them to get clicks.
Do not question. Only consume.
I have literally never watched her videos because all the thumbnails are cringy.
Besides I'd rather not watch a content creator that bends over backwards for youtube's algorithm.
Careful, you’ll get shit on for voicing that opinion in this post.
IDC If people think YouTube's algorithm is better at quantifying quality content then themselves maybe we are lost.
It maybe isn't for the viewers but if the channel is her job then obviously she's going to do what will make her get more viewers and hence more money.
Sounds like being a boot licker with extra steps.
