As for Acrobat (PDF reader), here are some alternatives not mentioned:

  • Okular (KDE app, runs Windows and Android too but in my experience the Android app is shitty)

  • muPDF and muPDF-gtk (minimalistic)

  • zathura (vim-like commands and keybinding)

  • Librera (if you use it for reading book on Android)

  • Foxit (Free of charge, proprietary)

I would add Libreoffice in the pdf section, the only open source software to edit pdf, but has some defects.
