If this happens often, get yourself checked out for diabetes.

Waking up at night to drink or pee are one of the most common symptoms.

could be other things, i breathe through my mouth when sleeping and it's like a desert when I wake up.

you also just naturally dehydrate during the evening

It could be, for sure, but nevertheless should be checked out. The meme specifically says 4AM, if you wake up dry in rhe morning its less worrisome, waking up at night to drink is more concerning.

Sleep apnea as well.

And Bioténe mouthwash is the BEST when you wake up dry.

Xylimelts are great for keeping your mouth from drying out in the first place. They have a natural adhesive on one side to stick in your cheek and the xylitol dissolves through the night stimulating your saliva production.

I have sleep apnea and use them daily to keep my mouth from drying out with the small amount of air as it escapes my mouth

It's just extremely common in general. But I thought this meme was about having a hangover. Slurping shit down straight from the tap like an animal because you didn't drink water before going to bed.

Would a dr know I have it if I've been seen recently?

I get up to pee like 2-3 times a night. I also keep water next to my bed.

If you raised the issue, hopefully they considered it, but they can’t see it on a routine visit. The two main ways we check for it would be:

  • an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), where you get serial blood sugar measurements for two hours - before and after drinking a specific amount of glucose on an empty stomach in the morning.

  • A blood test called HbA1c which correlates to your average blood sugar over the last 3 months.

I didn't mention it. Thank you for taking the time to answer. TIL I might have diabetes from a meme
