Rupert Murdoch is not a character in the show. He’s the ex chairman of Fox.

I think we both misread these posts...I read that comment as John Noble being referred to as Rupert Murdoch (aka evil) and Anna's uncle in the show (which would be a major spoiler), not as the actual Rupert Murdoch being her uncle in real life...which yeah, I'm pretty surprised by too!
