Ahh.. part of me misses the analog days, when you could almost build a radio with stuff you found lying around the house.

It's already been 6 years since FM was switched off (Norway), all that remains now is long wave.

Analog satellite, too, before encryption. With a motorized dish and a tuner you could watch the world, so to speak. So much fun scanning the skies for satellites and seeing what channels they held.
