When did Unity as a company get so bad? I remember a time when the engine had a poor reputation for things like "looking worse than Unreal" but I feel like the company has been making a lot of terrible moves lately that I never heard anything comparable to back then.
Right around the time the the former EA CEO moved to being the Unity CEO.
Same dude that thought they should charge players money for ammo in micro-transaction format.
Dudes a shit lord.
I remember when he got the job. It didn't make big news, but literally everyone's take was "This is the worst decision possible, why would you do this?" And things were quiet for a bit, but eventually he had to remind us who he is.
Good example of the 'Corporate Ghoul'.
Yep. It's been going for a long time now, although much faster lately. At a time I was looking at planned features with excitement, but they never come. The only things we get are mobile game focused features. Unity hasn't had official multiplayer support or global illumination for a while now. The UI has been being reworked for years, and that's technically available now, but I think it's in beta still. It's all been a mess for a while.
Shittyness of Unity CEO aside, I think i haven't seen the term shitlord used in years. You just gave me flashback to early 10s internet.
People who won't be ashamed of defecating and pissing on their graves.
So it is the head of a company that tucks the rest
When they went public, and even more so when the idiots hired John Riccitiello (the ultra greedy former EA CEO) as their CEO.
Once they decided that they were an ad providing platform, because that's where the money is at. Not sure if mister Reekshityellow was already at the helm for that one, but I'm guessing so, given how shitty an idea it is.
Lol, Unity is going to crumble to ashes and then Reddit is going to hire John as their CEO when they go public. The cycle repeats.
