As someone who hasn't seen the original content this meme is based off- it would be great to know what was going on here. Still funny though
Data has an ambition to learn to be human and chooses to love a cat. It's important when, later, he has to prove he is sentient in court.
Somehow, banging a (functionally) drunk subordinate officer who probably reports directly to him worked in his favor as well.
