Russia refused to extend the deal in July, complaining that an agreement promising to remove obstacles to Russian exports of food and fertiliser hadn’t been honored.

Fairness is irrelevant, I just don't want the West to get off the hook for its role in the grain deal. It takes two.

It's not really true though. The claim is that other embargoes are affecting Russian exports that were supposed to be whitelisted. So he's trying to use this to get most/all embargoes lifted.

You need to be more incredulous about what a dictator claims publicly.

I fail to see how any of that makes my point less true? The West still has a responsibility as part of the conflict to negotiate.

Two Western-aligned counties in Africa have had coups since the grain deal collapsed. Putin has leverage here and the West needs to reevaluate.

At least one of which was directly aided by Wagner. And neither of them was "Western aligned" before nor after, that's bullshit.

Quit the tankie shit. Russia is behaving disingenuously to get exactly what they want while not changing their bad behavior at all, then putting on this whole woe is me act as soon as there are any consequences for them. You can't simply believe everything a head of the state says and take it at face value. I mean you can and do, but you shouldn't.

ECOWAS is very friendly to Western interests, especially France and the US and AFRICOM is literally a seat of US imperial power, and the coups happened in member countries. Come on.

You first lol

Your entire argument is "we should do what Russia wants". They're waging a war of aggression and facilitating African coups, but somehow the west is at fault and needs to compromise with them. And if they form a diplomatic agreement that Russia violates, that's also the west's fault and they need to compromise more. And if Russia enters an agreement and then decides it doesn't like it, it's allowed to just tell bald-faced lies about how the terms apply and again, we should compromise with them and give them what they want.

Fuck all the way off.
