A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

No offense, but I get the sense that you don't actually know how ML works and you're just familiar with pop science descriptions of it. Am I wrong?

If I have to read one more snide comment calling disagreement “ignorance” I’m going to lose it lmao. It’s so arrogant and dismissive. The reality is it is you who lacks the humility to think maybe you’re wrong or don’t have as complete a picture as you think.

My goal thus far has been to have this discussion. If you'd like to recap yourself on this thread so far, you'll find that I am not the arrogant and dismissive one. That would be the person who called the discussion "devoid of any critical thinking".

If that is not your position, great, let's talk.

Whether or not he was being a prick is immaterial. Your opening paragraph is exactly what I described. I don’t know how you can read it any other way. It is completely needless and contributes nothing to your point.

People like that are stuck in a sealioning/"debate me bro" mindset that makes discussion impossible
