It's a dumb story too cause if you're under 40, just about every girl your age plays video games. Even if they say they don't, they all play The Sims, and owned a DS or a Wii at some point.
The games feeemales often play don't count because they're not about a grizzled middle aged man avenging his fridged wife and rescuing/protecting some daughter figure from dehumanized others.
