Community rules (click to expand)

1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

I have a cheap "remote" for my PC, so I rarely use it for media or couch watching, BUT

    Take ~50 photos

    Get home

    Two or three taps

Now they're all on my PC.

I use syncthing for that, don't even need any taps after it's set up. Did I mention I love syncthing? Because I love syncthing.

Could you clap your hands to confirm you really love it?

    [โ€“] Magnetar@feddit.de 12 points 1 year ago

Syncthing knows I love it, it needs no proof.

He is happy. And I think he knows it. He must now clap.

    Got that too. Awesome.

Here, multiple Androids sync their images to my laptop. There I sort them, move them to a different folder structure, which gets synced to the local server, the phones again as well as a tablet.

Backup will be done from the server, sorting on the laptop is much easier than on the phones, and tablet comes with us when we visit relatives.

All started by just coming home to the trusty WiFi. No interaction needed.

How's the battery drain on it? I used to use it, but the battery drain was atrociuous af. I moved onto syncthing fork which made it considerably better but it was still so high that I just ditched the thing entirely. Mind checking now much % it drains in the background?
