West Africa is at the forefront of geopolitical tensions marked by military coups and the rise of nationalist governments challenging neocolonial practices, particularly those of France. These governments seek to control their rich resources like gold and uranium for economic growth and national sovereignty, angering Western powers advocating neocolonialism. The expulsion of French soldiers from Mali and Niger, both pivotal in Western military operations, underscores the regions' significance. Despite Western claims of authoritarianism, nationalist governments enjoy strong popular support, resisting intervention and forging alliances with Russia and China. The West exaggerates Russian influence while projecting their neocolonialism. Geopolitical conflicts manifest the struggle for autonomy in West Africa.

I honestly can't figure out if your entire account is simply for pro-Russian astroturfing or if you are actually sincerely believe the incredibly low-quality information you find online.

You realize that first source they linked is the Economist lol? Is that a pro-Russian propaganda outlet?

Anything that doesn't regurgitate my neoliberal colonialist viewpoint is Russian/Chinese propaganda!! Yes I am not biased or subject to propaganda, I just get my views from reddit world news. /s

If both sources are saying the same thing, maybe you should take away that not all news from a Russian source is automatically bullshit, and not that the Economist is a pro-Putin propaganda outlet.

Real news can still be used to push a propaganda narrative

"Veritas" is the notorious right wing troll organization which produces fake news for the Republican party. Might not be related here but that is my association

It's also the motto and feature of the logo of Harvard University, and many other things.

Project Veritas, if it's still operational after being sued so much, is an operational hub for chuds, which we luckily don't see that many of on lemmy.

sir have you heard of Latin lol?

[–] Pili@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Veritas is the latin word for truth. It's the root of the french "vérité" and the spanish "veridad". There is an entire world full of history and languages outside of the USA.
