But as there's no global karma, an export of settings and subscriptions should be enough: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/506

That will make you lose your post and comment history though.

Yes... I know that Mastodon also has this "issue". You can migrate to a new profile, and on your old profile it was say something like "this person has moved to X", but you can not move your post history.
