A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Sonic's 30th anniversary was in 2021.

Sega's had a hard enough time. Let them enjoy.

They could make it all up by re-releasing the Dreamcast and putting the original PSO servers online.

Seriously, they screwed themselves with bad decisons.

Most mention of it has disappeared by now due to linkrot, but there was that sale of refurbs from spare parts back in the mid 2000's: https://www.engadget.com/2005-12-13-sega-not-re-launching-dreamcast-only-selling-refurbs.html

Give it another year or two, as new mini boards come out and things get back to normal-ish. Evidently, as recently as last year they were saying production costs would still be too high: https://www.destructoid.com/sega-saturn-mini-dreamcast-mini-mega-drive-mini-2-famitsu-interview-retro/

Associated with Twitter? No wonder why Tails was always superior.
