Going to Oregon to meet some friends for a few days. They don't smoke at all but are curious and willing to imbibe a bit. I have previously gotten them edibles (Federally Legal Delta 9) but want to introduce them to some smoking as well if they are interested. I also want to get a little fucked up in a legal state.

What should I be looking for at the dispensary? I dry herb vape my black market flower down here, but I am not gonna try to get my vape through TSA.

Should I try to buy a cheap bong up there? Never used one, but I hate joints, they make my lungs burn and I cough more than I inhale.

Should I just stick with edibles? I also kind of want to try RSO but not sure I want to get THAT fucked up. I enjoy doing high doses by myself but I won't have an opportunity to be alone on this trip.

I wish renting vapes were possible lol, there's a lot of cheap weed available in some cities ($1-3/g) that can actually be decent so it's easy to get a lot for cheap.

If you have the budget for a spare vaporizer that would probably be your best bet for flavor and ease on the throat. You can also get some cheap glass at a lot of places and have a little pocket bubbler with the vape (just make sure it's 14mm female or have an adapter! I usually use a bit of silicone tube)

Edibles here are pretty cheap too sometimes, though they personally don't hit me and they'll all 100mg max.

Finally - I've flown with multiple vaporizers! I'm not sure which you have, but if you're able to disassemble most of it or remove the batteries and keep them separated in the device. Cleaning the bowl and mouthpiece with isopropyl alcohol and getting it to its "factory" state effectively turns it into any regular old aromatherapy/tobacco vaporizer.

General rule of thumb I use is self-contained, declared, and carried on. I put any accessories (mouthpieces, all batteries, etc) and the vaporizer body disassembled and in a pelican case. I take it on carry-on, let them know the batteries are internal or removed, and then they usually open it and inspect it taking every piece out looking at it and then putting it back and I'm on my way. Hardly takes any more time than usual TSA! That said, I can't speak to how this is for non-legal states. I assume dry herb vapes are just dry herb vapes, but ymmv and I understand not taking the risk on money and time.

yeah fair point. Mine doesn't have a removable battery so I will check TSA's rules. I was worried about THC residue if they have a drug dog since I am flying from an illegal state, but you are right, if I clean it well then it is nothing more than a battery powered tool to heat up plant matter. Nothing illegal about that. I guess I mostly didn't want to worry about getting it through, but I am already planning on buying a hardcase for my stellar binoculars so I can check them so perhaps I clean it really well and just throw it in that

It's okay if the batteries can't be removed, as long as it's as disassembled as you can get. Whatever you decide, good luck and have fun!
