Why would anyone get Lemmy with adds or paywalled features when there are plenty of Foss/adfree options?

Because it is a freaking awesome app and has a huge amount of followers, it is worth giving it a glance at least, if it is as polished as the former Reddit app then I assure you it is worth it.
