only tangentially related but a mate of mine is a radar tech for the BoM and is a climate change denier. figure that one out
Why are you mates with a fucking idiot?
Some of us don't base our entire identities and relationships around a single thing.
It’s a pretty telling sign the person is a fucking moron, something that flows into every aspect of their lives.
It really isn't. People believe all sorts of weird and stupid things, often in isolation of everything else that makes up their character and life. I would definitely never go full cancel culture on a friend who happened to disagree with me on a single issue - particularly if that issue was something as irrelevant to our relationship as climate science.
Climate change is one of the biggest issues in the world right now and is killing thousands with billions to come.
It’s not like they prefer pineapple on their pizza, to be a climate change denier is no different than a holocaust denier and I’d end a friendship over that as well.
> to be a climate change denier is no different than a holocaust denier
lol
Don't bother. These peoples entire personalities revolve around how much better their farts smell than other people's.
Yeah it's a shame. If more people ventured outside of their bubbles and actually interacted with others in the real world then we probably wouldn't have such a toxic, polarised society. You don't change people's opinions by cutting them off, and hoping they magically disappear doesn't work either.
Oh the irony.
I'm going to blame him for the Brisbane radar constantly being down.
