According to his tweet he wore it to a party in 2012. And the tweet is still there, so the part about removing it from the internet is just a meme.

No it was for a costume party. He tweeted it and his tweet is still up. The part of him wanting it removed is made up. I don't like the guy but this gets posted constantly online and is easily shown to be false.
