Now if I could get my pihole to use DOH instead of my browser, that'd be great.

I run a local unbound instance, which talks DoH, DoT, etc., and then point my PiHole at that.

Have you considered switching to AdGuard Home? I think it supports DoH in both directions and provides most if not all that Pi-hole does.

It also support DNS over TLS (which fedora supports for OS level DNS) and DNS over QUIC (Which android support and is my preferred because of optimized performance).

It should be possible to configure DoH in Firefox settings under "General" - "Network Settings" right at the bottom.

Typically I just disable it. Will see what happens next time I run updates.

Does pihole not support dns over https?

It's not supported and probably won't be. But I also have hopes. :)
