I have had some previous trials with remote play and it was crappy but then I got jedi survivor from EA play and wanted to stream it to my deck so I came across Moonlight and NV shield protocol

This is actually way way way better than steam broken steam play?

Any explanation why same hardware, same network and everything would lead to a heaven and hell difference in performance?!

I’ve been playing this game a few days and loving it. Not a big puzzle person but this game just hits.

Topic. =/ In Desktop mode, all of the non-steam shortcuts show up, but in gaming mode, they are all gone.

Hi, I'm currently super bedridden and forgetful due to disability stuff and I have $90 in my Steam Wallet. What are some good long games that aren't story heavy that work on the deck? Stuff like Civ 6 where one game can go on for ages, rather than games like Baldur's Gate 3 that need me to comprehend a story.

I tried Crusader Kings 3 since I already owned it but it seems to be borked on deck so if anyone knows how to fix that I'd appreciate that too

I just got my Steam Deck OLED and will be flying with it today.

But I don’t want the body or screen to get scratched when going through security. Does anyone know if TSA make you take it out of the case? I’d hate to put it naked in the bins.

EDIT: thanks all for the info and suggestions! Was asked to take the steam deck out of my backpack, but left it in its case and all is well. Thanks again!

Try Chiaki4deck. you can configure it to run remotely too, and unless you are extremely far away, you won't notice the input lag.

Now, the reason i made this post is that a lot of people seem to not know how to mimic dualshock/sense touch gestures. i've read some threads from a while ago mentioning that the old way, using community layouts, was deleted, and they didnt know what to do now.

this official guide should be enough to get you set for trackpad gestures. you basically map the right trackpad as 'mouse region', touch is left click, click is the keyboard key T, and you're good to go.

my testing in regard to distance was 40 miles away from home, and i could play Dragon's Dogma 2 and Unicorn Overlord with zero notice of any lag. I will try GoT too, but don't expect to have issues.

so, if you're like me and wanted to play again because of the PC launch hype, but don't want to double dip, enjoy!

What if a company such as Hori or 8BitDo made a controller specifically for Steam/Steam Deck? Is that something you would be interested in? I personally would like one with touch capacitive sticks for gyro but I would also love trackpads. However, I assume if something like that was really made they would just completely ditch the idea of trackpads, unfortunately.
