Rotating board to player whose turn it is will be default going forward.

  1. d4 d5
  2. Oe3 Og6
  3. Nf3 Nh6
  4. O-O c6
  5. Nc3 O-O
  6. h3 Bxh3

Timeframe changed to 11 hours for the long timeslot so I can walk it forward if needed. I mean it when i say it'll be after X hours, not surprise anyone with a 5 mins early move.

Maybe I'm missing the understanding of this forum but why are there three rooks per side on the board?

I don't know chess notation, but the knight in the right should move northwest. Put pressure on that third rook

Two of the Rooks are actually Knooks and they can move as either a Rook or a Knight. They have the K "Tattoo". They have the piece notation of "O" So the Knook on e3 can jump to capture the pawn on d5. It could also move to capture the pawn on e7 and put the King in check.

Anarchy Chessers were waiting two long for Garry Chess to release Chess 2.0 and started making their own pieces and moves. For a while there was a bit of which is better Knook or Queen discussion on another forum.

Other moves were made like Siberian swipe where Rooks can immediately capture other rooks, Knight boost where an underpromotion to Knight is balanced by allowing the Knight to immediately move, and il Vaticano, Two bishops which have two pawns on squares in between them can swap squares and capture the pawns in between. These moves are not legal in this game.

I forked an open source chess game (dreamchess) and wrote new code to allow promotion to Knooks and this open game is a way for me to help playtest the code changes were correct. I originally tried to complete games at a much shorter timeframe, but posts about moves hadnt fully federated before the time to complete them expired. Blitz didnt work, so ive switched to correspondence times.

To mix things up a bit, i changed the starting pieces so that Knooks replaced the King side bishops who went on vacation. They might be coming back soon. Pawns can promote to Knooks.

Moving the Knight as suggested could be a terrible move (Im like 400 ELO), while it threatens the Knook, the Knook can also legally capture it the next move. And if it does, the pawn could capture the Knook, so i personally can't evaluate too deep, but hope this series of posts can give some more serious chessers something new and interesting to look at.

Kh7 is the default move. Pawn is pinned and cannot capture due to the Knook. King advancing to capture.

Im putting in a default move so game can progress at time, but removing my own upvote so that any one elses move is higher than mine as soon as they make it. For comments with same number of votes, its my discretion however i'm leaning towards oldest move.
