I am pretty certain they’ll find a way to jury rig the IRIS-T and whatever Fox-3’s the French gave them onto the Viper. And I’m furthermore pretty certain that knowledge will percolate to the rest of the EU, so that any other Viper operators can’t be held hostage as easily by the cavalcade of fecal matter that is our government.

those missiles are almost certainly intended for ground launch.

The IRIS-T is a Fox-2. The primary deployment mode is “strap it to a fighter and kill another fighter with it”. Ground launch is, afaik, a secondary capability, but it’s happy to kill Russian planes that way too.
