Bullshit is a non-human biologic.

[–] Malgas@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

Even if it's true, it's essentially meaningless:

Nonhuman biologics on Mars or Europa? Discovery of the century (assuming they weren't accidentally ferried up by a rover). But Earth? You have to go to a great deal of trouble to create a space without nonhuman biologics.

There's still a lot that we don't know about UAPs. All jokes aside, there are academic programs in place that study this phenomena. I, personally, interviewed one of these academics and you can read it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AcademicUAP/comments/123nrk2/sebastian_oehme_answers_questions_regarding_his/

I hit a nonhuman biologic with my car once and it didn't even flinch, but possums are resilient creatures.

This seems like a bullshit use of Congress' time - but better this than constant attacks on the rights of US citizens.

It's those darn squirrels again!

I kind of believe him, I don't see what benefit he would have to make it up

Are you aware that his he has said that they don’t have the evidence to ascertain origin and has speculated that they may not be from another planet but from another dimension?

With voyeuristic intentions?

Well secluded… they see all!

(great, now that song will be stuck in my head all day)

[–] muddybulldog@mylemmy.win 1 points 1 year ago

It's astounding.

I think @whelmer summed up my thoughts pretty well

[–] muddybulldog@mylemmy.win 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m not trying to be argumentative or even contrary. I was just legitimately curious if you were aware that some of the claims and speculation being made go WELL beyond the headline here.

[–] gabe@literature.cafe 2 points 1 year ago

Oh no, I didn’t think you were at all. I’m aware of what he believes and says and I think some of it is kind of plausible to me personally

[–] whelmer@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No reason to think there aren't other dimensions, and if there are any there might as well be an infinite number, and surely in an infinite number of dimensions someone in at least one of them discovered how to travel between them.

[–] knokelmaat@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

I think you're confusing dimensions with parallel universes.

Dimensions are just coordinates needed for describing an object.

In practical physics, we have 4 dimensions, 3 to define an objects location (e.g. x, y, z) and 1 for it's moment in time.

To become famous and have people talking about him

[–] CherryClan@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

the truth is out there!
