another example of how sexual minorities are still targeted in the US and are at risk of assault and death. i hope the two men who were victimized are supported by their community and loved ones. it makes me so angry that there are people out there who think gays are “normalized” because same-sex marriage is legal. far from it lol. we are still thought of as immoral and disgusting by tens of millions.

in texas, the state still comes after you; they have plain clothes police officers as part of the tabc who try to entrap people at the gay bars to that they can fine & cite and close them down if they're successful enough.

This was noted as a TikTok trend the other week in Australia. Really awful behavior to target anyone like this.

Australia might not be a powerhouse in culture, or wealth, or democracy, or productivity, or technological innovation, or diplomacy, but it does two things really well:

It's big and it's at the vanguard of stupid or bigoted trends.

At a higher level / more generally speaking, if it’s a TikTok trend it’s probably best not to do it. In fact, simply not using TikTok is probably the best solution.
