i am very glad this will be a thing. a few years ago i rented a villa for a weekend getaway with my wife; i paid for it online - it was ~$175/night and we stayed 3 nights (long weekend). upon arrival, i was then asked to pay $250/night before i could get the keys. i fucking hate this practice... it feels so bad.
Similarly if you get a hotel downtown, anywhere really, and they advertise it as $125 a night. Ends up being $140 a night after the $45 fee for parking, then $150 a night while they hold a $30 deposit for "incidentals", and then whatever BS fees to get it to almost $200 a night.
And this is after you paid the $125 online expecting to get your room, but they won't give it up until those things are paid. This scenario happened to me almost to the letter last year.
My question is: how long will it take to enact this rule, and can it be repealed easily by the incoming administration once Hilton/Marriott/La Quinta complain about making $1 million less from fees.
I hate the downtown hotels parking fee. I will end up finding somewhere to park close by for $10-15.
Totally viable...When the nearest parking isn't 2 blocks away and it's raining lol
Parking is extremely expensive—why should people not using it pay for it
You only pay if you park your car. This is not like a resort fee which is charged for everyone.
I'm very glad this will be a thing
For 2 months.
