But it runs windows, so it's useless and we don't care.

I wonder how good the software is. This seems to be the weak part in many handhelds and the thing Valve nailed with their Steamdeck. If it runs Windows 11, I'll pass.

RIP, I hope big companies will turn their back on Microsoft when they see adding Windows detracts from their product.

Everyone knew before the first one that it has higher overhead so all specs are less than advertised

They still do it

I just got a steam deck a few weeks ago and gotta say, it’s pretty great and it just boots into steam which is all I’d ever want a handheld to do. I got the highest tier steam deck for $650 and it’s had no issue running anything I’ve wanted to run on it. It runs new stuff perfectly well from all the reports I’ve seen of people playing baldurs gate 3 on it

Yep, BG3 plays fairly well on it. I have the OLED one too. Also Helldivers 2 plays great.

Haven’t tried helldivers yet, bought the steam deck to use on planes and trains while on holiday and so haven’t had internet access at all and certainly not reliable internet most of that time. Super Earth will just have to wait until this diver is back at the main machine

I hate the Steam Deck! /s

I mean, I'm half joking but I used to sleep in bed and now I waste like 2-3 hours on Balatro instead of falling asleep at an appropriate hour.

Geez this is gonna sound like astroturfing, but I gotta say I don't think I've ever been so happy with something I bought!

Waiting for a Qualcomm handheld...

I'd be tempted once bazzite supports any hardware quirks

handheld news on PC gaming community

They are personal computers

I would differentiate it from a console in that it runs applications on itself rather than on a mainframe

Original name for these device was UMPC, now rebranded as "handheld" because flow better in tweet an youtube videos titles.
