Alright so here is what you need : -

1. Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software
2. Calibre
3. DeDRM plugin for calibre

Steps: -

1. Download the file from internet archive
2. Install ADE
3. Import the downloaded file into ADE. ADE makes a DRM protected version of the downloaded file and stores it on your computer.
4. Install Calibre and DeDRM plugin for calibre
5. Find the file created by ADE and import it to Calibre. Calibre removes the DRM protection from the file and creates another version of the book that is not bound by a time limit and can be easily shared/stored/uploaded.

You can then read the book without the hindrances of borrowing. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need help, and if this is too much to take in, just send me a DM and I'll remove the DRM for you.

Legally the internet archive isn't allowed to let you keep books forever and I don't think there's an easy way to keep them. Whatever books you're reading can be obtained through other means though, it doesn't need to be from Internet Archive.
