I've been missing a lot of Steam overlay's features on the deck, last time I used a guide I had to look it up everytime I went back into the game. Not to mention only having the Steam guide and no web browser.

backend changes for a more unified codebase between the desktop client and the Steam Deck client.
Who wants to bet desktop Big Screen quick-chat in RL gets broken again.
Does the Linux Hardware acceleration mean some games will work better on the steam deck ?
I assume it just means the Steam UI will run better on Linux.
It does! Though it didn't run that poorly for me before.
Well since the update my bluetooth has all it's mapping shuffled each time I connect it to the Steam Deck. First time it happened I wondered why when I want to heal on crisis core I parried instead XD
For people wanting a work around: after connecting the bluetooth controller, use the steamdeck controller to go to parameter > controller > select your controller > test input and with the touchscreen select "reset the input mapping". After that it will be good until you disconnect the gamepad or put the Steam Deck on Sleep.
I hope a patch will arrive soon to fix that...
I've had connectivity and reliability issues when using Bluetooth controllers with my Steam Deck docked anyway. It's Bluetooth only seems good for using headphones while handheld for me. I got a 10ft USB extenders and 4 port hub for controllers and it works perfectly and is much easier than having to pair all controllers, make sure they're all charged, etc.
Was really hoping this would include SteamOS 3.5. I'm ready for the SMT bugfix with the updated Linux kernel.
But alas, after update remains at 3.4.8. I do believe this was just a Steam Client update.
Looks great though. Glad to see an updated/homogenized UI.
