This one and the one where he investigates the guy who supposedly sailed around Staten Island are my favourites. I love the way he unpacks the investigative process

Not sure I've seen that Staten Island one, but I've queued it up now!

I really liked the US State Flag one, that tickled me good.

His video on runway numbers is great as well

The airport codes and interstate codes videos are similarly great!

I really like CGPgray, except for like, 10 years ago, when he made a video about why the british monarchy is necessary and useful.

[–] z0rg0n@monero.town 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He never says they're necessary but does explain how they're useful. Is the royal family not actually bringing in more money for the government than they're using?

Here's a great video Shaun made in response to the CGP one.

He really likes useless things and uneccesary, pedantic order. Monarchy is where the two meet.

This was a good one to watch

Really didn't cover that part of Alexander Pope's life in The DaVinci Code, did they?

Despite it being the driving force of his entire life.

Alexander Pope was that bitch.

That was much funnier and much more entertaining and interesting than I ever would have guessed.

[–] TWeaK@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

There's a few of them where he's gone off the deep end, for viewer entertainment. The rock, paper, scissors video(s) are particularly intricate.

[–] magnetosphere@kbin.social 2 points 11 months ago

lol that was the one I watched after posting that comment!

[–] OpenStars@kbin.social 2 points 11 months ago

Damn you for making me watch that. All the way to the end and beyond. In one pass. And for becoming better for having watched it.

edit2: added quotes, fixed words

Awesome video! Always a great time when we go on rabbit hole adventures!

My go to from CGP Grey is: The Rules for Rulers!

These [corrections] how much soever they may look like ridicule... are undoubted confirmations of [your] industry, and will ever be thought so by persons of deeper penetration. - Alexander Pope

Damning with faint praise. - Alexander Pope

He was a most sordid poor wretch; had universal mistrust of the generality of mankind; lived in a solvenly, stingy manner, and died possessed of what he had not the heart to enjoy. - Alexander Pope

Thomas Hearne vs. Alexander Pope, reminds me of hiphop social media beefs, like the 50 Cent one, hahaha
