There was (is?) a community here for open source ecology, but it never got much activity.
I love the idea of it, but unfortunately its not a terribly well managed project from what I saw, which I think hinders how active the community can be. A lot of videos of their projects, for example, are a silent timelapse of some feature they were working on a house with the camera set quite far away providing very little useful information, and making it honestly pretty pointless to even record.
I think if the project just had a better media ability, like if they made videos in the style of codyslab or something, they would blow up. But as it is they really just did that one TED talk to get everyone excited, and since then it's just been a dribble of tidbits about various projects.
