any peertube experts have any idea why this comment i just made on a peertube post via lemmy didn't federate back there? it's supposed to now, right?

strange, I commented on another instance just fine...

wow, the import video feature is really convenient!

I hope they use OpenAi's new open source speech recognition to enable automatic captions to improve accessibility features.

hopefully this will finally fix lemmy <-> peertube federation!

So you can follow peertube channels from here?

yup!
observe: https://lemmy.ml/c/podcast@h3h3.club

(you have to search for the peertube channel url in lemmy to view them)

EDIT: and the lemmy-view will be missing some content because of the federaton bug that got fixed, but you can search video urls to make them show up

Ideally, you could play the videos and not just see the thumbnail

words have a hard time expressing the awesomeness of federation =]

yes I agree!

Could be high traffic for servers though if people follow all different kinds of accounts all over AP.

[–] Thann@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

yeah, trying to sync all the info across the fediverse can be expensive, but its also distributed among a lot of different servers, so its kind of a double edged sword.

also I guess people won't need multiple accounts if they follow many from one, so maybe it's not so bad?
